Here we have answered the most common questions we get when talking to our customers. If you do not get an answer to your questions, you are always welcome to contact us.
The biggest advantage is that you don't have to make a large and expensive investment. Purchasing an energy efficiency package is a costly and complex project where you need to obtain and compare quotes from several different actors. You also avoid fluctuating electricity bills every month and we take care of all service and maintenance. We offer a solution with a fixed and favorable monthly price where you participate and contribute to a more sustainable society.
The pricing of our energy subscription is individual and is set based on the unique circumstances of each household and is based on our energy analysis.
Our energy analysis, based on which we can choose the most optimal energy system for each individual household's conditions, is done by our AI model, which builds the best system for your property. The calculation is based on factors such as microclimate, condition and size of the property, energy availability and energy price. It helps us choose, for example, the type of heat pump that is most efficient and beneficial in your home, as well as the size of the photovoltaic system and battery.
Our energy subscription includes, first of all, all electricity that goes to heating (22 degrees) and hot water, so it does not matter how much electricity the heat pump actually consumes — it will of course be higher in a long winter, but this does not affect the monthly price. In addition, a “household pot” is included for your other electricity consumption. The pot is based on your previous consumption and is meant to cover just household electricity.
Several of our customers have electric cars, for example, and we usually recommend not to increase the pot for this because the electric car may not be available for the full term of the contract, and we want you to have as low a monthly cost as possible and get the full benefit of what you pay for. Talk to one of our energy advisors if you have questions about your specific energy needs. Every house's energy needs are unique and so is your monthly cost!
Normal heating of the house is included. It implies an indoor temperature of up to 22 degrees.
If the household electricity pot runs out, you pay a cost price for the excess consumption. This means that we resell the electricity without adding any margin at all.
The network charge is not included in our energy subscription, but the variable part of the network charge is significantly reduced by using our energy solution where we install a heat pump, solar cells and battery. Thus, you continue to receive an invoice from your electricity network owner.
The binding period of our energy subscriptions is 15 years. After that, ownership of the energy solutions passes to you as the property owner.
The idea of our energy plan is, of course, that it should benefit you as a customer, us as a company and the environment. In exchange for installing a brand new energy system in your home and offering a fixed monthly cost for your energy consumption, we own the right to manage the system and also any profit it brings. This means that we will buy electricity to meet your energy needs, but also sell any overproduction.
Some months we are likely to go minus and others plus, but over these 15 years we will have earned our money again and at the same time helped support the shift to clean energy.
If you are moving, there are three options.
1. Once you sell your house, buyers can choose to take over the subscription. Then the contract is transferred to the buyer with the same conditions and they take over the remaining term. A small administrative fee is charged for the relocation of contracts.
2. You buy out the installation. Once you have sold and vacated the property, you will pay the remaining value of the installation. It is calculated on the value of the installation - depreciation + 20%.
3. We come out and assemble the installation away for a cost of 75% of the residual value. Please note that the labor cost of the assembly is borne by you as the seller.
The reason why Elvy's energy subscription is so cheap and may sound too good to be true is because through our infrastructure we can obtain more revenue for electricity trading than you as a private individual can do. Since Elvy also procures products and installations on a large scale, we get reduced prices and financing costs. This allows us to subsidize your monthly price and still have a profitable deal. A good deal is predicated on everyone being a winner - in this case the homeowner, Elvy and subcontractors. The fact that we together relieve the electricity grid and the climate is a bonus.
Until the contract expires after 15 years, we are responsible for servicing and maintaining the system. If something goes wrong due to, for example, negligence of the property owner or natural damage, it is covered by the property owner's own home insurance.
Depending on your circumstances, the service frequency will vary. Regular service takes place every two years, unless service is required for the system's continued functionality.
To make the system as efficient as possible, we always choose the pump that is best suited and has the efficiency required for your household. If you have specific preferences, we are happy to try to find a solution that meets your wishes.
This depends on several factors (make, type, model, how often it is serviced, etc.) but the general life of a heat pump is 15-20 years. When it comes to solar cells, this also varies, but in general, solar cells have a long life of between 25-30 years.
As a property owner, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the roof is in good enough condition to install solar cells. If the roof is older or in poor condition, we recommend replacing the roof. If you are unsure, it is a good idea to contact a surveyor who can carry out a review of your roof.
In the same way as for a heat pump, we will choose the most optimal system for your property in order to be able to provide you with the lowest possible monthly price.
Normally a building permit is not needed but the rules vary from municipality to municipality. It is up to you as a property owner to check this. Contact the building board in your municipality and check what applies in your particular case. Examples of when planning permission is required are if the property is listed, is within a planned residential area or protected area.
The contract for the energy subscription runs for 15 years, which gives you maximum security for a long period. After that, the ownership of the energy plant passes to you as the property owner for 1 krona.
If the person in the contract passes away during the term of the commitment, the following options are available:
1. When the estate divests the property, the new buyers can take over the contract.
2. When the property is sold, the installation is purchased and paid for in connection with the removal.
3. We get out and disassemble the installation. Please note that you, as a seller, bear the labor cost of removal. This option is possible only if the installation is less than five years old.
If you are two who own the property and are jointly on the contract and for some reason go their separate ways, there are the following options:
1. The person who moves transfers his obligation to the person who remains in the house.
2. You buy out the whole plant.
If Elvy disappears, your energy plant will not be affected. Instead of Elvy paying the cost of heating, household electricity and lease fees, you pay these directly yourself. You also take over the energy system's revenue streams. Service and repairs are still included in the lease but are handled by the leasing company. You can reasonably expect a similar net cost for your energy but with a little more variation over the year.
